On Tuesday, August 5th, Houston BUILT hosted its very first Service Project benefitting its official charity partner, Boots For Troops! Houston BUILT is proud to support Boots For Troops’ Care Package Program – a meaningful way to show appreciation for our deployed service members.
Our members hosted their own care package packing party: stuffing 20 boxes with essential and morale-boosting items hand-picked for each recipient. Every package included a pair of new combat boots and was customized based on an individual service member’s likes, needs, and hometown pride. From favorite snacks and socks to music and handwritten notes, each care package hopes to deliver a powerful message: you’re seen, you’re valued, and we’re grateful.
Before packing each box, members could read about each service member – where they are from, where they are deployed, and which military branch they serve. It was a fantastic way to not only gather our members during the summer, but even more importantly, give back to our charity partner!
